Queen Anne's Lace

I hadn't thought about Queen Ann's lace for years until I decided it would be the perfect choice for a wedding bouquet I made a few week ago.

It has an elegant antique charm and a distinctly summery feel.

While I had some at home I couldn't resist adding some food dye to the water to see if the flowers changed colour...........

They did!   I love reliving these childhood experiments, they remind me of long Summer days with nothing but time on your hands.

Marigold.

  1. Oh I had quite forgotten about doing the same thing when I was a child. Seem to remember it worked really well with daisies??? Love this old fashioned flower. Although having planted it in my last garden, it took the opportunity to go nuts and kept popping up in a thousand spots all over the garden. Luckily it's a pretty thing so it didn't matter tuppence.

A gorgeous bouquet - love the 1930s style vase you have it in too. xx
